MIKE Cain & Dave Harper

Our ceramic work is often described as abstract or expressionist. It is largely based around slab or coil built slipware. We often use wood, metal or other ‘found’ objects as part of our making process which gives our work a bold, raw or gritty look.

Besides our ceramic art we also paint, and make sculpture. Our studio is in Stoke on Trent, UK

Ethos

Mike and Dave share the same creative direction, which is based around experimentation & abstraction. Their studio is in Penkhull which is part of ‘The Potteries’. They are proud to combine traditional slab made pottery techniques with a modern art approach.  They each produce their own work, but share similar artistic values and support each other creatively.
